how pixar does it

I while back I watched a great lecture by Ed Catmull about how Pixar fosters creativity and manages crises, I made the following notes (which I'm putting up here so I can reclaim some space on my whiteboard):

• Have constant review (Pixar has them daily)
• It must be safe for people to tell the truth
• Communication should not mirror the org structure
• People and how they function is more important than ideas
• Don't let success mask problems -- do a deep, honest assessment
